We did it! we have made it to the halfway point of pregnancy #2. To celebrate, Sydney and I dressed alike.
Although her belly is big, I am still bigger!!
This is a picture of the ultrasound picture, so not the best quality. I think this baby looks a lot like Sydney did in her ultrasound pictures, except not as chubby, or maybe just not as big of cheeks. I feel like maybe this one might have a chance of looking like me!! No clue on gender, I made sure Brian and I both diverted our eyes during that part of the ultrasound.
Baby R #2 sure is cute!
We get another chance to see this little pumpkin on Spetember 25th. The doctor found a VSD on the baby's heart, which I guess is common. She explained a VSD as a small hole in the heart. She said that this particular VSD is super tiny, like a pin prick, and said that some doctors might not even have seen it or said anything. It is more than likely a hole that will close up as the heart continues to develop. So that means we go back for another ultrasound to make sure it closes as it should. On the ultrasound they said they couldn't see any blood going through the hole so that is also good. She told me not to worry about a thing, and not to google it. After our situation with Sydney and her ultrasound in which they found an echogenic focus on her heart, I have decided to follow the doctor's orders and I am not going to worry or google VSD. I have learned my lesson about freaking out about something that doesn't need to be freaked out over. We will take this baby and love it whether it has a hole in it's heart or not. It would be preferable that it closes up so we don't have to do surgery or anything like that when it comes out thought! We are just praying everything happens the exact way it is supposed to. You wouldn't believe the panic that hit me though as they said they needed to bring the doctor in to look at the baby's heart! Not again!!
What is with our babies and their hearts?! I guess my body is just not made to hold that much love in one spot :)
Other than that, everything on the ultrasound looked awesome! Baby R weighs 13 ounces and had a heart rate of 151 during the ultrasound and 157 when I went upstairs for my dr visit. I have really been starting to feel some real kicks, and not just flutters anymore. Hopefully the 2nd half of the pregnancy goes as fast as the first half, because we will be holding a baby in no time!!
I think you have a very smart doctor this time and glad you are taking her advice!
